About this opportunity

The Macon Water Authority, a political subdivision of the State of Georgia located in Bibb County, is issuing an Invitation for Bid (IFB) for the procurement of a replacement by-pass pump system. The procured equipment consists of one 6-inch by-pass pump unit featuring an Atlas Copco PAS F66 KD-S 74HP FT4 pump, 6-inch Bauer flanges, a pair of floats with 40-foot cables, and a 12W, 12V solar charger, with all pricing to be delivered on an FOB Destination basis with applicable taxes deducted. Sealed bids must be received by 12:00 noon on Thursday, April 16, 2026, with public opening scheduled for 2:00 PM the same day; bid envelopes should be clearly marked "BID FOR BY-PASS PUMP" and submitted to Rhonda Smith at 790 Second Street, Macon, Georgia 31201. Written requests for specification interpretations must be submitted to the Purchasing Office by 5:00 PM on Friday, April 10, 2026. The Authority's evaluation criteria include price, reputation, financial responsibility, experience, provision of features, and usefulness to the department, and the Authority reserves the right to award the bid to other than the lowest bidder if deemed in the Authority's best interest. Manufacturers' names and catalog numbers are provided to identify quality levels but do not limit competition; equivalent products meeting or exceeding specifications are acceptable if accompanied by complete descriptive literature and proof of equivalency. All equipment must include a Manufacturer's Statement of Origin free and clear of all liens and encumbrances and must be ready to use upon delivery, with bids remaining valid for sixty days from the opening date.

The bidding documents do not specify any set-aside designations or restrictions limiting responses to particular types of organizations such as disadvantaged enterprises, small businesses, or minority-owned vendors. No incumbent vendors or current contractors are identified in the procurement documents, and no existing infrastructure or technology integration requirements are noted. The procurement documents do not provide an estimated award value or budget range for this by-pass pump procurement, leaving the final award amount to be determined based on the sealed bids received and the Authority's evaluation of the submitted proposals.
