About this opportunity

The California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) has issued Invitation for Bid (IFB) 25-068 for preventative maintenance and unscheduled repair services for printing and mail operations equipment located at the DMV Print Shop and DMV Mail Processing Center in Sacramento. The procurement covers comprehensive maintenance for ten specific pieces of equipment, including collators, paper folders, shrink wrappers, drills, cutters, staplers, and folders. Bidders must have service technicians who have been directly employed for at least three consecutive months and possess a minimum of five years' experience with the specified equipment types. The contract term is thirty-six months, with a proposed start date of July 1, 2025, or upon contract approval. Bid submissions are due electronically by 11:59 p.m. on May 8, 2025, with a formal bid opening scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on May 9, 2025. The maintenance services will include quarterly preventative maintenance and on-call repair services, with pricing structured to include per-quarter maintenance costs and hourly rates for unscheduled repairs.

The solicitation covers jurisdictions including Sacramento County, Sacramento City, San Francisco City, and West Sacramento City, with an estimated total contract value of $68,770.00 for the three-year term. The current contractor is Advanced Finishing Systems, Inc., which held a previous contract valued at $34,000.00. While Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise (DVBE) participation has been waived for this specific procurement, the DMV would potentially provide a 3-5% bid incentive for DVBE involvement. Bidders must comply with various state requirements, including civil rights laws and economic sanctions restrictions. The procurement requires proof of insurance and adherence to specific state contracting regulations. Contractors must be prepared to provide comprehensive documentation and potentially undergo verification of their technicians' qualifications and experience throughout the contract term.
