About this opportunity
Murray County is seeking bids for the 2025 LMIG Countywide Paving Project, a comprehensive road resurfacing initiative funded through Local Maintenance and Improvement Grant (LMIG) and county funds. The project encompasses asphalt overlay, repaving, leveling, and restriping on approximately 40.233 miles of roadways across multiple streets in Murray County, including Bagley Road, Beaverdale Road, Bee Parson Road, and numerous others. The scope of work involves approximately 456,663 square yards of resurfacing, utilizing 39,559 tons of asphalt and up to 15,584 tons of leveling material. Contractors will be responsible for paint striping, marking replacement, manhole and valve box adjustments, and implementing traffic control measures, including coordination with railroad flaggers. All work must strictly adhere to the Georgia Department of Transportation's 2021 Standard Specifications for Construction of Transportation Systems, supplemental specifications, and applicable GDOT standards. The proposal is due by May 6, 2025, with the project being posted on April 1, 2025.
While specific set-aside designations are not explicitly detailed in the provided documentation, the project appears to be open to qualified transportation and road construction contractors capable of meeting GDOT specifications. The procurement does not indicate specific restrictions for disadvantaged business enterprises, though standard municipal contracting practices often include such provisions. The total project scope suggests a significant infrastructure investment, with an estimated project value implied by the extensive roadway coverage and material requirements. The project will involve comprehensive resurfacing of approximately 40 miles of county roads, indicating a substantial infrastructure improvement initiative. The contract will require technical expertise in road construction, asphalt application, traffic management, and adherence to strict state transportation standards. Potential bidders should demonstrate capability in large-scale municipal road reconstruction projects, with specific experience in GDOT-compliant construction methodologies.
