About this opportunity
Lake Orion Community Schools is soliciting sealed proposals for a 2021 Furnishings Bid Package (Project 5-4740) from qualified furniture and equipment dealerships. The procurement encompasses furnishings and equipment for six school locations: Early Childhood Center, Carpenter Elementary, Orion Oaks Elementary, Webber Elementary, Paint Creek Elementary, and Stadium Drive Elementary. Sealed proposals must be received by 12:00 P.M. local time on Tuesday, March 2, 2021, at the office of Heidi Mercer, Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning, located at 315 N. Lapeer Street, Lake Orion, Michigan 48362. Bids received after the deadline, submitted electronically, or transmitted via fax will not be accepted. Bidders must submit two complete copies of the bid using the provided bid form, with electronic copies encouraged as supplementary documentation. Electronic bidding documents are available after February 15th through GMB at www.gmb.com under "Bid Sets," and prospective bidders may download drawings and specifications from the GMB Plan Command site. Proposals will be opened publicly and read aloud at the submission deadline, with the Board of Education evaluating proposals and making award determinations at a later date.
Bid security in the amount of five percent of the total bid is required from all bidders in the form of a bid bond, certified check, cashier's check, or money order payable to the Owner; personal and company checks are not acceptable. Bids exceeding $50,000 require Performance and Labor and Material Payment Bonds covering 100 percent of the project value, with bond costs excluded from the Base Bid. Bidders must demonstrate bonding capability and complete notarized Affidavit of Bidder and Affidavit of Compliance forms regarding the Iran Economic Sanctions Act, with failure to properly complete these forms resulting in bid disqualification. Proposals remain firm for sixty days from the bid opening date. The Board reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, is not obligated to accept the lowest bid, may waive irregularities, and may evaluate bids on any basis it determines to be in its best interest. No specific set-aside designations, incumbent vendors, or award values are identified in the available documentation.
