About this opportunity

The School Board of Marion County, Florida, is seeking competitive bids for a term contract to procure two-way radio equipment through Bid #4142GM, with the primary objective of securing firm pricing for portable radios, mobile radios, batteries, accessories, and repeaters for various vehicles and locations. The procurement covers equipment that can be delivered as-is, pre-programmed, or installed in new vehicles, with specific requirements for VHF and UHF frequency radios, digital and analog models, and emergency communication devices. Key deliverables include portable radios for Motorola and ICOM models, replacement batteries, mobile radio installations for cars, minivans, buses, trucks, and work vans, and repeater equipment. Vendors must submit electronic proposals through myvendorlink.com by June 26, 2025, at 2:00 PM, with bid questions due by June 19, 2025, and an anticipated board award date of July 22, 2025. The contract will run from July 23, 2025, through July 31, 2026, with potential for three additional one-year renewals, and evaluation will focus on lowest responsive and responsible bidders, considering factors such as past experience, management capabilities, customer references, and service after the sale.

The solicitation does not explicitly outline specific set-aside designations for disadvantaged enterprises, but it emphasizes compliance with various state and federal regulations, including provisions for drug-free workplace programs and background screening requirements. Vendors must provide detailed information about their business, including years in operation and previous project experience, and demonstrate compliance with E-Verify requirements and federal grant management standards. The bid strictly prohibits vendors from marketing additional products beyond those included in the bid specifications, maintaining a focused procurement approach. While specific budget ranges are not explicitly stated, the contract allows the School Board to award by item, group, or in total, with the potential to establish primary and secondary suppliers. Insurance specifications and technical qualifications are integral to vendor selection, with emphasis on the ability to provide comprehensive radio equipment solutions that meet the school district's communication infrastructure needs. The procurement appears to be open to qualified radio equipment suppliers who can demonstrate technical expertise, competitive pricing, and the capability to support Marion County Schools' communication requirements.
