The scope covers three day-shift housekeepers (6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.) and one evening-shift housekeeper (2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.) to augment existing state staff. The contractor must comply with all federal and state regulations governing MSVA facilities, including Mississippi Department of Health requirements. Vendors bear the cost of employee background checks ($50 per employee) and tuberculosis testing ($10 per employee), and must ensure mandatory in-service and dementia training. Required insurance includes workers' compensation, comprehensive general liability with minimum limits of $500,000 per occurrence, and fidelity bond insurance with minimum limits of $100,000.
The contract is firm fixed-price with detailed unit pricing required. The initial term runs October 15, 2026, through September 30, 2028, with an option for one additional one-year renewal under the same terms and conditions, subject to Board approval and fund availability. No estimated dollar value is provided. Proposals will be evaluated on cost (50%), long-term care experience (30%), corporate experience and past performance (10%), and in-house training and sustainability factors (10%).
Questions are due September 9, 2026, with answers posted by September 18, 2026. Contract award is anticipated October 12, 2026, with notification by October 14, 2026, and a projected start date of October 15, 2026. Vendors must submit original and seven copies of proposals in three-ring binders to the Mississippi Veterans Affairs office at 120 North State Street, Jackson, Mississippi 39201.
