UNSPSC 73131607: Butcher services

UNSPSC 73131607 Butcher services (Commodity) shows minimal alignment with recent state and local procurement activity. The code nominally covers meat processing and butchering work, yet the recent opportunities block contains no butcher services solicitations; instead, it records food service management contracts, catering, concessions operations, temporary kitchen staffing, and food distribution work—categories that sit outside the butcher services scope entirely. The mismatch reflects either a coding anomaly in how the source tagged the opportunities or a genuine absence of recent butcher-specific demand.

State and local governments appear not to be soliciting standalone butcher services at the commodity level right now. The food-service ecosystem visible in recent postings emphasizes turnkey operations (food service management companies running entire programs), catering vendors, concessionaires, and food distributors—all of which may procure meat from suppliers but do not solicit butchering labor as a standalone line item. No issuing body, geographic region, response date, or representative opportunity can be anchored to actual butcher services work under this code based on the source provided. Firms pursuing this code should verify current UNSPSC assignment with prospective customers or monitor for future shifts in state and local food procurement strategy.
