About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration (VA VISN 21) is seeking construction services to improve security systems at the Mountain View Center in California. The project involves installing comprehensive physical access control systems (PACS) and intrusion detection systems at Building 801, including nine PACS readers with dual authentication, ten door alarms, motion intrusion sensors, and glass breakage detection sensors. This sources sought notice is specifically targeting NCO 21 MACC GROUP 2 contractors to determine if the contract can be fulfilled through the existing Multiple Award Contract (MACC) vehicle or if an open market approach is necessary. Interested firms must submit detailed responses by December 19, 2024, at 12:00 PM Pacific Time to Kristin Kennedy via email. The government will evaluate submissions to assess the availability of qualified contractors and the most appropriate acquisition method.
The opportunity is set aside exclusively for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB) under NAICS code 236220 for Commercial and Institutional Building Construction, with a size standard of $45 million. The project requires contractors to install a Sielox Pinnacle brand PACS system that integrates with existing VA systems, with a total project duration of 132 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed. Work will be performed Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM at the VA facility located at 1776 Old Middlefield Way in Mountain View, California. The contractor must comply with VA, Federal, State, and local codes, with specific attention to the Physical Security and Resiliency Design Manual (PSRDM) requirements. While no specific award value is mentioned, the size standard suggests potential for significant project scope and complexity.
