About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Air Education and Training Command is seeking a comprehensive roof repair project for Building F542 at Vance Air Force Base in Oklahoma. The pre-solicitation notice outlines a full roof replacement involving three distinct roof sections with standing seam metal roofing, including edge flashing, fascia panels, gutters, and downspouts. The project requires contractors to ensure a watertight transition between the roof and vertical brick wall, with strict adherence to specified material standards and workmanship requirements. While specific evaluation criteria are not explicitly detailed in the pre-solicitation notice, contractors will likely be assessed on their ability to meet technical specifications, compliance with the Buy American Act, and capacity to complete the project within the prescribed timeline. The current solicitation is open, with responses due by June 19, 2025, offering potential contractors a two-week window to prepare and submit their proposals.
The contract is not designated with any specific set-aside classification and falls under the NAICS category of Commercial and Institutional Building Construction (236220). The total project duration is 180 calendar days, with 120 days allocated for design, mobilization, and material procurement, and 60 days dedicated to actual construction work. While the precise award value is not specified, the comprehensive nature of the project—which includes repairing full-depth cracks in brick veneer, creating new movement joints, and potentially replacing up to 10% of existing stone coping—suggests a substantial contract value. The project requires contractors to meet specific warranty requirements and perform work to a professional, workmanlike standard. Interested contractors should carefully review the attached Statement of Work and be prepared to demonstrate their technical capabilities and compliance with all specified requirements.
