About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs Office of Construction and Facilities Management intends to sole-source a 20-year lease for the William Bill Kling Department of Veterans Affairs Outpatient Clinic in Sunrise, Florida, with market research submissions due by July 30, 2026, and the presolicitation notice response deadline of July 31, 2026.
The VA is negotiating on a sole-source basis with the incumbent lessor for the facility currently located at 9800 West Commercial Boulevard, Sunrise, FL 33351. The lease covers approximately 103,423 ANSI/BOMA square feet with a maximum of 121,410 rentable square feet, accommodates up to 650 parking spaces, and anticipates occupancy in September 2028. The VA is inviting market research submissions from interested parties proposing alternative facilities that may be economically and operationally advantageous to the Government. Proposed properties must be located within the defined Sunrise area bounded by West Atlantic Boulevard (north), Interstate-595 (south), Interstate-95 (east), and FL869 Sawgrass Expressway (west), and must satisfy minimum site and building criteria including proper zoning, floodplain compliance, operational compatibility, fire and life safety standards, utility capacity, and environmental and historic resource requirements. Market research submissions are directed to Lease Contracting Officer Jamie Thompson (James.Thompson23@va.gov) with a copy to Project Manager Garland Gill Jr (Garland.Gill@va.gov). The VA reserves the right to proceed with the incumbent lessor if no viable alternative facilities are identified.
