About this opportunity

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is seeking to lease approximately 4,970-5,000 usable square feet of space for an Oak Park Vet Center in Forest Park, Illinois. The VA requires a location within a specific geographic area bounded by I-90, South Halsted Street, I-55, and I-355, with 24 on-site parking spaces and ADA compliance. Preferred space is first-floor and contiguous, though non-contiguous and multi-floor options with working elevators will be considered. Interested offerors must submit detailed property information, including photos, layout, location, and approximate price-per-square-foot by February 5, 2025, at 10:00 AM CST to Julie LeCourt and Bernetta Dorr. The VA will conduct market research to determine the most economically advantageous option, considering factors such as relocation costs, operational efficiency, and infrastructure requirements.

The contract opportunity is not set aside for any specific small business category and will be a 20-year lease with a 5-year firm term, targeting occupancy by November 1, 2025. The VA currently occupies leased space in Forest Park and is open to alternative locations that meet their operational needs. While specific budget ranges are not disclosed, the solicitation indicates the VA will evaluate proposals based on overall cost-effectiveness and facility suitability. The space is specifically designated for outpatient clinics and medical office use, with a focus on finding a location that minimizes disruption to VA services. Importantly, the VA emphasizes that this sources sought notice is not a formal solicitation, and respondents will not be compensated for proposal preparation, with a potential Request for Lease Proposal to be issued at a later date.
