About this opportunity
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) William J. Hughes Technical Center is conducting a market survey to identify small business entities capable of providing armed security guard services at its Atlantic City International Airport facility. The market survey seeks to gather information about potential contractors' capabilities in providing comprehensive security support for a 5,059-acre complex with over 200 buildings and multiple security-critical areas. Interested firms must submit a ten-page capability statement demonstrating experience with armed security services, ability to provide at least 50 full and part-time armed security officers, and capacity to meet specific technical requirements such as obtaining secret clearances and operating sophisticated security equipment. Respondents must provide detailed contract history, including at least three examples of similar contracts valued at $1,500,000 or more per year. The market survey responses are due by 12:00 PM Eastern Time on March 14, 2025, and will be submitted electronically to sarah.e.mccarty@faa.gov.
The procurement is designated as a Competitive 8(a) set-aside, specifically targeting small business participation in the security services sector. The contract will require comprehensive security coverage including 24/7 dispatch center operations, visitor screening, perimeter protection, emergency response capabilities, and management of complex security infrastructure. Key personnel requirements include a Program Manager and five shift Guard Supervisors, with all security officers needing New Jersey firearms permits and secret clearance eligibility. While no specific award value is explicitly stated, the comprehensive requirements and facility scale suggest a substantial contract value, likely in the multi-million dollar range. The contract appears to be a follow-on to a previous 8(a) contract, indicating a continued commitment to supporting small business growth in federal security service contracts. Guards will be responsible for protecting critical aerospace and transportation security infrastructure, including the Transportation Security Laboratory's 12-acre campus.
