About this opportunity

The United States Department of Agriculture's Agricultural Marketing Service is conducting market research for domestic walleye fillets to be used in USDA Food Programs. This pre-solicitation notice seeks information from potential vendors who can supply 100% domestically produced walleye fillets in 40/1 LB frozen packages. Interested companies are requested to provide detailed information about their product, including labeling, packaging, shipping requirements, distribution capabilities, and compliance with federal and state regulations. The market research aims to assess commercial availability of the product and gather comprehensive vendor details. The deadline for submitting responses is April 21, 2025, with responses to be emailed to Carrie Meyers and Kevin Day at their USDA email addresses.

No specific set-aside designation is mentioned for this procurement opportunity, and no incumbent contractors are identified in the notice. The solicitation does not specify a precise award value or budget range, but it requires vendors to provide an estimated cost or market price per unit. Vendors must be prepared to potentially deliver walleye fillets throughout the United States and demonstrate their monthly production capacity. Companies responding must indicate their SBA size classification and provide details about their grading methodology, product shelf life, and shipping capabilities. To be eligible for future bidding, suppliers will need to become qualified vendors through the USDA Agricultural Marketing Service's vendor qualification process, as outlined in the referenced master solicitation document.
