About this opportunity

The Army Contracting Command-Rock Island (ACC-RI) is seeking to procure Automatic Identification Technology (AIT-7), a comprehensive suite of state-of-the-art commercial items for automatic identification, data collection, and asset tracking across multiple defense and federal organizations. The solicitation targets hardware including hand-held terminals, barcode scanners, label printers, RFID equipment, and related software with capabilities for data processing, storage, retrieval, and transmission. The procurement will use a Lowest Price Technically Acceptable (LPTA) source selection methodology, evaluating proposals on management, technical, and price factors with an acceptable/unacceptable rating system. The draft Request for Proposal (RFP) is currently informational, with the formal solicitation expected to be released under number W519TC-24-R-AIT7. Interested parties may review draft documents and submit questions, though no proposals are being requested at this time, with a due date of April 14, 2025.

The contract is open to all business types with no specific set-aside designation, using NAICS code 334111 (Electronic Computer Manufacturing) with a size standard of 1,250 employees. The government anticipates awarding up to three Firm Fixed Price Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contracts with five one-year ordering periods, supporting the Department of Defense, United States Coast Guard, NATO, Coalition Partners, and other federal agencies. While the exact contract maximum and guaranteed minimum buy are still being determined, the procurement will cover a wide range of automatic identification technologies to be used in industrial, hazardous, and ordnance environments worldwide. The primary place of performance is listed as Petersburg, Virginia, with equipment designed to operate in diverse global settings. The contract will support tracking and management of assets using advanced radio frequency (RF) technology, with potential equipment quantities ranging from hundreds to thousands of units across various configurations.
