About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs Technology Acquisition Center in Austin is seeking a comprehensive Video Surveillance Operations Manager (VSOM) Software replacement for the Southern Arizona VA Healthcare System. The procurement will involve replacing existing software, application servers, and video storage servers with a new system that must integrate seamlessly with the Milestone System Platform and Network Harbor Lighthouse System. The proposed solution must be capable of operating continuously 24/7 in critical facility areas and include full technical training for system users. The government is currently conducting market research to determine how best to meet their requirements, with a response deadline of May 23, 2025. Potential vendors must demonstrate technical capabilities to support a robust surveillance infrastructure that meets VA policy standards.
The procurement does not have a specific set-aside designation and will be open to qualified vendors in the Security Systems Services NAICS category. The project involves procuring hardware and software for a 1,000-device surveillance system with up to 5MP resolution cameras, including 8 configuration servers with specific Dell hardware specifications and 119.02 TB of video storage. The contract will require two senior engineer site visits totaling 15 days for installation, configuration, and testing, with deliverables including server base licenses, device licenses, audio/video recording systems, and comprehensive installation services. While specific budget ranges are not explicitly stated, the complexity of the technical requirements suggests a significant investment in advanced surveillance technology. The proposed system must support h.265 codec and include redundant server configurations with RAID 1/10 and RAID 5 disk setups to ensure maximum reliability and performance.
