About this opportunity
The 97th Contracting Squadron at Altus Air Force Base is seeking to procure one vertical storage unit for their Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, with a focus on improving parts management and inventory tracking capabilities. The Department of the Air Force's Air Education and Training Command is overseeing this acquisition, which targets a fully automated storage system with advanced technological features. The solicitation requires prospective contractors to be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) database and have a DUNS number to be eligible for award. Evaluation criteria will primarily assess two factors: price and technical acceptability, with quotes being rated as either "acceptable" or "unacceptable" based on meeting the solicitation's salient characteristics. Key dates include a deadline for questions on May 16, 2025, at 11:00 AM CST, and a proposal submission due date of June 9, 2025.
This procurement is designated as a 100% Small Business Set Aside under NAICS code 493190 for Other Warehousing and Storage, with a size standard of $36.5M. The vertical storage unit must meet specific technical requirements, including a compact footprint not exceeding 80.26 ft2, real-time inventory tracking, user-specific PIN code access, and the ability to support a minimum of 40 trays with a 1,100-pound tray payload capacity. The place of performance is Altus Air Force Base in Altus, Oklahoma, with the storage system intended to be delivered to the 97 AMW MXH Airlift Division. While no specific incumbent is mentioned, the solicitation indicates the current storage system is insufficient due to limited capabilities and recurring breakdowns. The contract aims to replace an existing system with a more advanced, efficient vertical storage solution that can optimize floor space and improve inventory management for the Aerospace Ground Equipment (AGE) shop.
