About this opportunity

The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration, Veterans Integrated Service Network 4 (VISN 4) is seeking qualified vendors to provide portable patient lifts and related equipment through multiple award Blanket Purchase Agreements (BPAs) for the VA Northeastern Consortium (VANEC), which encompasses VISNs 1, 2, 4, and 5. The requirement includes a comprehensive range of lift equipment such as disabled patient chairs (therapeutic and bariatric), rehabilitation chairs, mobile floor lifts in various capacities, stand aids, bath transfer chairs, standing frames, stretcher-chairs, fall recovery mattress lifts, and single-patient use transfer systems. All equipment must be new (not recertified or refurbished), with U.S. manufacturing preferred, and must include shipping, installation, assembly, clinical and technical training, maintenance, and warranty services. The VA prioritizes compact systems requiring minimal storage space, appropriate battery and charging equipment, optional accessories including slings and spreader bars, and value-added offerings such as extended warranties, additional training, and volume-based pricing improvements. Responses to this sources sought notice are due by May 4, 2026, at 1:00 PM EST and should be submitted via email to the Contracting Officer Andrea Aultman-Smith at andrea.aultman-smith@va.gov or by phone at 484-475-5619.

This is a pre-solicitation notice with no set-aside designation, and no incumbent contractors or award values are identified in the sources sought documentation. Vendors must be capable of servicing 57 VA Medical Centers and facilities across the Northeast region, with delivery locations spanning the four VISNs. Contractors are required to provide two years of equipment manuals in both electronic and physical formats per facility, offer a one-year manufacturer's warranty covering parts, labor, and preventive maintenance, and establish post-warranty service agreements providing 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern coverage with 24-hour phone support availability. This notice is market research only; responses are non-binding and will not result in immediate contract awards but will inform the VA's procurement planning and vendor selection process for the eventual full solicitation.
