This solicitation seeks proposals for hotel lodging services to support veterans receiving care at the Robley Rex VA Medical Center in Louisville, Kentucky. No, the VA will not pay for unused rooms.

Or is there a "release" date that you can tell the hotel to release your rooms, and then the VA does not pay? Â

The rooms may be released if the VA does not schedule by 5:00pm, 2 days in advance. Â

On the below request it notes 3-diamond, will you accept 3-star as well?Â

Will you consider a hotel that is further than the 5 miles? No

In the SOW, Section 1.G it notes the contractor will not be paid for any lodging if the veteran is admitted to any medical facility. Will the VA be informing the contractor when/if the veteran is admitted to a medical facility?Â

Yes, the VA will notify the hotel when a Veteran will not be returning.

If the VA fails to notify the contractor will the VA pay for the lodging?Â

If the VA fails to notify the hotel that the Veteran will not be returning the VA will pay the previously authorized reservation date. Â

Also, if a lone veteran, with no caregiver, is admitted for inpatient care at their appointment, will the VA cover any lodging charges associated with the veteran s belongings left in the hotel room?

This purpose of this synopsis is to notify potential SDVOSB vendors of a requirement that the Louisville Kentucky, VA Medical Center has for Hoptel services. The rooms offered shall be within 5 miles of the Robley Rex VA Medical Center, 800 Zorn Avenue, Louisville, KY 40206. This contract shall be for a base period of one year with the option to extend four additional optional year periods.

Lodging Requirements

A. Seven (7) double-occupancy rooms shall be required of the Contractor for VA lodging services Monday through Thursday evenings. At least two (2) of these rooms per night are to be handicap accessible. An occasional rollaway bed may be requested and is to be provided at no additional charge. The veteran is permitted to have a spouse/significant other or other family member reside in the room with them for the duration of the stay. The rooms are to be held in reserve until 5:00PM each day and released back to the vendor after this time.

B. Two (2) double-occupancy, handicap accessible rooms shall be required of the Contractor for VA lodging services on Sunday evenings. An occasional rollaway bed may be requested and is to be provided at no additional charge. The veteran is permitted to have a spouse/significant other or other family member resident in the room with them for the duration of the stay. The rooms are to be held in reserve until 5:00PM and released back to the vendor after this time.

A request for proposal will publicized on Contract Opportunities www.Sam.gov on or about November 26, 2021 as a SDVOSB set-aside.
