About this opportunity
The U.S. Air Force Academy seeks a capable contractor to provide and install a complete, turnkey fire station alerting system at four USAFA fire stations and the primary dispatch center. This procurement from the Department of the Air Force Headquarters Air Force Academy encompasses hardware, software, system configuration, integration with dispatch consoles, end-to-end testing, commissioning, user training, and as-built documentation delivery. The most critical requirement is full, native interoperability with the existing El Paso-Teller County 911 Authority's proprietary alerting platform, which is mandatory and non-negotiable; any proposed solution must directly integrate with this platform without modifications to the current dispatch center configuration. Interested parties are directed to submit a capability statement per the attached Sources Sought document, which contains complete technical characteristics and submission instructions. The Pre-solicitation Notice was posted on February 4, 2026, with a capability statement deadline of February 24, 2026.
This Pre-solicitation Notice is designated for market research purposes only and does not utilize a set-aside designation. No incumbent contractor or current contractor information has been identified in the notice. The notice does not specify an award value or budget range for this requirement. The contract scope involves four fire station locations plus one dispatch center, though the notice does not provide specific timeline details for system installation and commissioning beyond the market research response deadline.
Notice text
The U.S. Air Force Academy (USAFA) seeks capable sources to provide and install a complete, turnkey fire station alerting system. The scope of this requirement includes the procurement and installation of all necessary hardware and software at four (4) USAFA fire stations and the primary dispatch center. Services shall include system configuration, integration with dispatch consoles, end-to-end testing, commissioning, user training, and the delivery of as-built documentation.
The most critical technical requirement for this acquisition is full, native interoperability with the existing regional dispatch infrastructure. USAFA receives all dispatch notifications from the El Paso-Teller County 911 Authority, which utilizes a single, proprietary alerting platform to ensure standardized communication across all regional federal and municipal fire agencies.
Any proposed solution MUST be able to directly and natively integrate with this existing platform without modification to the dispatch center's current configuration. This is a mandatory, non-negotiable requirement.
Interested parties are directed to review the attached Sources Sought document for a complete description of the requirement, including all essential technical characteristics and instructions for submitting a capability statement. This is a Sources Sought Notice for market research purposes only; this is not a solicitation.
