About this opportunity

The Department of the Air Force, specifically United States Air Forces in Europe - Air Forces Africa, is seeking a contractor to engineer, furnish, install, and test (EFIT&T) new premise wiring for Building 110's second floor at Aviano Air Base in Italy. The project requires installing new NIPR Cat-6 cabling, including 11 new dual-drop outlets, a Cisco Catalyst C9300-48P-A 48-port PoE+ switch, a Cat-6 48-port patch panel, and a 3kVA rack-mounted uninterruptible power supply (UPS). Contractors will be evaluated based on technical capabilities, prior experience, and pricing, with the government selecting the most advantageous quote that exceeds minimum requirements. The solicitation (FA568225Q0005) was originally posted on May 9, 2025, with the final response deadline extended to June 6, 2025, at 4:00 PM Central European Time. Quotations must include a technical part, Performance Work Statement, equipment list, and demonstration of relevant prior experience.

The contract is not set aside for a specific small business designation, though the NAICS code 238210 for Electrical Contractors is used. The place of performance is Aviano Air Base in Italy, with the project focusing on upgrading the telecommunications infrastructure for the 31st Communication Squadron. The scope of work includes removing existing outdated Cat-3/Cat-5 cabling, ensuring proper bonding and grounding, and complying with national, regional, and local laws and safety standards. The project requires extensive documentation, including as-built drawings, test plans, and test reports, with the contractor providing a one-year warranty on workmanship and equipment. While no specific award value is mentioned, the project involves comprehensive network infrastructure upgrades with specific equipment requirements, including TAA-compliant Cisco networking components. The contractor will need to coordinate closely with base personnel and minimize service disruption during implementation.
