About this opportunity

The National Institute of Standards and Technology seeks quotations for an ultrapure water system and pretreatment system, with proposals due April 10, 2026 (extended from April 6). This is a total small business set-aside with a $41 million size standard.

Place of performance is Gaithersburg, Maryland (Building 221, Room A117). The procurement requires one ultrapure water system capable of producing Type 1 UPW from domestic tap water with sustained flow rates exceeding 1.5 L/min at 30–70 psi for up to 8 hours, effluent resistance of 18.2 MOcm with less than 3 ppb Total Organic Carbon, ultrafilter, 100 kDa point-of-use filter, UV/TOC lamp, and TOC monitor operating on 120 VAC. A pretreatment system must condition tap water to extend the UPW system's operational life, also on 120 VAC. All equipment must be new, shipped in original manufacturer packaging with complete documentation and software. Deliverables include both systems with manuals and a one-year service agreement covering semiannual filter and cartridge replacements and annual capsule filter replacement. Systems must be delivered and installed within 60 days of order receipt under FOB Destination terms; the contractor performs installation, setup, and demonstration within 30 days of delivery. The Government accepts supplies within 14 days of receipt. NAICS code is 221310, Water Supply and Irrigation Systems.

Quotations must be firm-fixed-price, organized in three volumes (Technical, Price, and Terms and Conditions), and submitted electronically. All quoters must maintain active SAM.gov registration. Award goes to the lowest priced, technically acceptable quotation meeting or exceeding minimum requirements. Questions were due April 2; Amendment 0002, issued April 7, clarified sustained flow requirements and average consumption expectations.
