About this opportunity
GSA Federal Acquisition Service is issuing a Request for Information on adapted vehicles for disabled drivers and passengers, with responses due July 13, 2026, as market research preceding a potential solicitation. This is not a set-aside procurement and does not commit the government to contract.
GSA Fleet seeks input on light-duty vehicles including minivans, full-size vans, SUVs, CUVs, pickup trucks, and sedans equipped with adaptive controls and modifications for individuals with physical disabilities. The RFI welcomes responses from existing GSA Fleet vehicle suppliers and new sources, including vehicle resellers operating through dealership networks. GSA Fleet manages over 225,000 vehicle assets for more than 75 federal agency customers and estimates potential annual demand of 2,500 to 3,000 units.
GSA is exploring a partnership with the Department of Veterans Affairs to provide adapted vehicles to eligible disabled veterans through VA's automobile allowance and adaptive equipment programs, with automobile allowance benefits of $27,074.99 and adaptive equipment conversion costs of $40,683. Suppliers must provide "turnkey" vehicle solutions, manage supply chains, and potentially offer door-to-door white-glove delivery, title and registration services, operational training, and scheduled maintenance.
Responses limited to 15 pages must address company information and SAM UEI registration, qualifications and certifications including ADA compliance, commercial contracting methods with estimated pricing, order-to-delivery lead times and country of origin, customer service capabilities, and partnership opportunities. Submit to Brandon.Scharschell@gsa.gov by July 13, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. Eastern. Respondents should review Federal Standard 307 for light trucks and federal standards for wheelchair vans (Standard Items 281–287) before submission.
