About this opportunity
The Air Force Materiel Command Test Center seeks to procure two focal plane array infrared imaging systems, one operating in the mid-wave infrared spectral region using an indium antimonide detector and the other operating in the long-wave infrared region using a strained layer superlattice detector. The systems must meet extensive technical requirements for detectors, electronics, performance metrics, optics, software, and documentation as outlined in the draft specification. Interested parties must demonstrate the ability to provide the systems as commercially available off-the-shelf items by submitting capability statements no later than March 26, 2021 detailing organizational information, experience meeting similar requirements, lead times, and existing contracting vehicles that could be used.
There is no set-aside designation. The primary NAICS codes are 334516, 334511, and 333314 with small business size standards of 1,000, 1,250, and 500 employees respectively. The relevant PSC codes are 5840 and 6650. No incumbent or current contractors are identified, and the notice does not provide estimated award values or quantities required. Interested businesses should outline any potential quantity discounts in their capability statements.
Notice text
Provide two windowing focal plane array (FPA) Infrared (IR) imaging systems to meet requirements for two specific instruments identified as 1) MWIR Indium Antimonide (InSb) High Resolution and 2) LWIR Strained Layer Superlattice (SLS) High Speed. Each of the two types has specific radiometric performance requirements, while both instruments must share common operational characteristics and software (in two discrete systems). These two systems will be used to upgrade an existing multi-spectral imaging system. Both requirements are intended to be fulfilled by off-the-shelf commercially available systems and shall use common control/data recording software.
