About this opportunity
The Indian Health Service (IHS), an agency within the Department of Health and Human Services, is conducting market research for emergency generator preventative maintenance services at two service units: Taos Picuris and Acoma Canoncito Laguna in New Mexico. The contract involves specialized testing, inspection, and repair work for Caterpillar diesel-powered generators to ensure compliance with NFPA 110 and Joint Commission accreditation requirements. Potential contractors must have a minimum of 5 years' experience in emergency generator services, Caterpillar-certified technicians, and the ability to respond to emergency calls within 4 hours. Evaluation criteria will include technical requirements conformance, past performance, and pricing. Interested businesses must submit responses to Eric K. Wright via email by December 31, 2024, at 12:00 pm Mountain Daylight Savings Time, with a comprehensive Statement of Capabilities and all required business classification information.
The procurement is specifically set aside for Small Business Indian Firms, 100% Indian Owned Economic Enterprises, or small business concerns, with a focus on NAICS Code 811310 for commercial and industrial machinery repair and maintenance. Each service unit has a slightly different generator: Taos Picuris has a newer Caterpillar C9 GCABR 250kW/480V diesel generator installed in 2023, while Acoma Canoncito has an older Caterpillar model #3412 diesel generator from 2001. The contract structure includes a base one-year period with four additional one-year option periods, allowing for potential long-term engagement. Work will be performed during standard business hours (8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday-Friday), with emergency services available 24/7. Contractors must provide detailed service reports within 15 business days of each maintenance visit and be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) to be considered.
