About this opportunity
The United States Air Force Global Strike Command is conducting market research to identify sources for T-38A Virtual Reality Part Task Trainer (VRPTT) maintenance services, with sources sought responses due by 4:00 p.m. CST on June 25, 2026 (extended one day via amendment). The Air Force is evaluating whether this requirement can be satisfied through a Small Business Set-Aside and is actively soliciting all contractor types, including small businesses, 8(a) firms, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses, HUBZone firms, and Women-Owned Small Businesses.
Work is performed at Whiteman Air Force Base, Missouri, on a standard 40-hour work week schedule. The contract period extends for a 12-month base year plus four optional one-year extensions. Contractors must furnish all labor, materials, facilities, and equipment required for maintenance and must possess the licensing required to perform work on the T-38 VRPTT system. The contractor is responsible for quarterly preventative maintenance events during the first two weeks of each fiscal quarter, with acknowledgment of service requests within 24 business hours and on-site qualified technicians available within 24 business hours for non-remote issues. Software updates and security patches must be installed within 10 business days of release with full system testing. System updates following aircraft modifications must be completed within 180 days.
Technical documentation, software baseline, interface documentation, and system source code are proprietary and will not be provided by the Government. Prospective contractors must possess or obtain appropriate source code licensing and authorization from the current system owner to perform software modifications and system updates. NAICS 541511 (Custom Computer Programming Services) applies; SBA Size Standard is $34,000,000. Interested sources must select "Add Me to Interested Vendors" on SAM.gov to participate in market research.
