About this opportunity
The Department of the Interior National Park Service Pacific West Region is conducting market research through this Sources Sought Notice to procure two Volgelsang rotary lobe pumps with associated installation kits, accessories, and motors for the Paradise Wastewater Treatment Plant at Mount Rainier National Park. The pumps must be VX100-128Q model units paired with 2-horsepower, 208-230/480 volt, 3-phase motors and must integrate seamlessly with existing infrastructure to handle high-solids content and abrasive media at flow rates of 15-90 gallons per minute against 26 feet of total dynamic head. Key requirements include pulsation-free pumping capability, cartridge seals for maintenance accessibility, bidirectional flow capacity, and strict spatial constraints with specific dimensional requirements documented in the attached technical drawings and specifications. This pre-solicitation notice is intended to gather information on qualified vendors and their capabilities to determine whether socio-economic set-asides are appropriate for the formal solicitation; responses will be evaluated based on company qualifications, manufacturing capabilities, and ability to meet the specified technical and delivery requirements. The deadline for respondents to submit requested information is February 16, 2026, and this notice was posted on February 6, 2026.
No set-aside designations have been applied to this procurement, though the market research conducted through this notice may result in a small business or other socio-economic set-aside for the formal solicitation. The facility currently processes up to 70,000 gallons of wastewater daily and urgently requires these two replacement pumps as only one of the three existing pumps is fully operational, making this a critical maintenance need for the park. Vendors must be capable of delivering the pumps within 70 to 80 days following contract award, and delivery will be to Mount Rainier National Park's warehouse facility in Longmire, Washington. The procurement is classified under NAICS code 333914 (Measuring, Dispensing, and Other Pumping Equipment Manufacturing) with a size standard of 750 employees, and PSC code Z1ND (Maintenance of Sewage and Waste Facilities). Response to this market research announcement is voluntary with no reimbursement for costs associated with providing information, and no contract will be awarded based on this pre-solicitation notice.
