About this file

This is a Specification attachment for a federal contract opportunity with Mount Rainier National Park to supply and deliver two Volgelsang rotary lobe pumps with associated installation kits, accessories, and motors for the Paradise Wastewater Treatment Plant. The facility currently handles up to 70,000 gallons of wastewater daily from the Paradise area, serving as many as 11,000 visitors each day. Of the three existing pumps transferring wastewater from the Equalization Tank to the Aeration Tanks for primary treatment, only one is fully operational and another is barely functioning, creating an urgent need for two replacement pumps.

The pumps must fit within specific spatial constraints with measurements of 21 1/8 inches from wall to center pipe on both left and right sides, 13 1/2 inches flange to flange, and heights of 7 inches on the influent side and 6 3/4 inches on the effluent side from floor to center pipe. Operational requirements include flow rates of 15-90 GPM against 26 feet of total dynamic head at 97-391 RPM, pulsation-free pumping, cartridge seals for easy maintenance, bidirectional flow capacity, and compatibility with high-viscosity sludge and abrasive media. The included motors must be 2 horsepower, 208-230/480 volt, 3-phase units, which is a standard size for this pump type. Delivery must occur within 8-10 weeks of award. The specification includes photographs documenting the existing pump installation and space measurements to assist potential contractors in understanding the installation requirements.

Attachment 1 Specification MORA Supply and Delivery of Wastewater Pumps Mount Rainier National Park

Mount Rainier National Park intends to procure two Volgelsang rotary lobe pumps, with associated installation kits and accessories (including motors) for sludge/sewage handling at the Paradise Wastewater Treatment Plant. These pumps must integrate seamlessly with existing infrastructure and meet operational requirements for high solids content and abrasive media.

The Paradise Wastewater Treatment Plant handles up to 70,000 gallons of wastewater daily from the Paradise area in Mount Rainier National Park, serving as many as 11,000 visitors each day.

Currently, three pumps transfer wastewater from the Equalization Tank to the Aeration Tanks for primary treatment. However, only one pump is fully operational, while another is barely functioning, leaving the system in urgent need of two replacements. The specifications below outline the size requirements and components for this purchase.

Pumps must fit in the existing footprint measured at:

• From wall to center pipe: left side - 21 1/8 in. Right Side- 21 1/8 in.

• Flange to Flange: 13 ½ in.

• Height floor to center pipe: influent side= 7in. / effluent side= 6 ¾ in.

Pumps must:

• Flow at a rate of 15-90 GPM, against 26 Ft of TDH at 97-391 RPM.

• Include pulsation-free pumping

• Include cartridge seals for easy maintenance

• Include bidirectional flow capacity

• Be compatible with high-viscosity sludge and abrasive media

Included motors must be:

• 2 horse Power 208-230/480 3 phase motors which is a standard size for this type of pump

Delivery must occur within 8-10 weeks of award.
