About this opportunity
The National Institute of Standards and Technology seeks a Superconducting Qubit Control System via request for quotation, with quotations due August 12, 2026 by 2:00 PM Mountain Standard Time and questions due August 4, 2026. This is a total small business set-aside (NAICS 334515, 750-employee threshold) pursued under simplified acquisition procedures for a firm fixed-price purchase order.
Place of performance is Boulder, Colorado (NIST-Boulder, 325 Broadway, Mail Stop 676.01). The system must be an established commercial product with multiple units operating successfully in the field; experimental, prototype, or custom items are not acceptable. The arbitrary waveform generator must include at least 8 independent output channels with output frequencies up to 10 GHz and baseband frequency of at least 400 MHz per channel, maximum RF power of 0 dBm, 16-bit resolution with selection from at least 65,536 voltage levels, peak-to-peak maximum voltage of at least 500 mV into 50 Ohms, 10 digital output channels, at least 2 analog input channels with 10 GHz range and 400 MHz bandwidth at 12-bit resolution, and real-time feedback control with maximum 700 nanosecond latency. The system must be self-contained, powered by standard 120 VAc/60 Hz wall power, and rack-mountable. Delivery is required within 60 days of award. Training comprises one on-site or remote session covering system operation, with vendor-provided in-person or Zoom delivery. Installation support from a vendor technician and coordination with the NIST Small and Medium Enterprise point of contact are required. Quoters must maintain active SAM.gov registration at submission and throughout performance. Award is made to the responsible quoter offering the lowest-priced, technically acceptable quotation. Technical capability and price are evaluation factors. Quotations must be organized into three volumes: Technical, Price, and Terms and Conditions, submitted electronically to lia.arthofer@nist.gov.
