About this file

This is a Requirements/Specification Document from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) for the procurement of a Superconducting Qubit Control System.

NIST's Communications Technology Laboratory, Quantum Communications Division, Scalable Quantum Computing Group (676.01) is requesting one Superconducting Qubit Control System to support the development and testing of a quantum bit reference system. The system must be an established commercial product with multiple units operating successfully in the field; experimental, prototype, or custom items are not acceptable. The arbitrary waveform generator (AWG) must include at least 8 independent output channels with output frequencies up to 10 GHz and a baseband frequency of at least 400 MHz per channel. Additional technical specifications include a maximum RF power of 0 dBm, the ability to select from at least 65,536 voltage levels with 16-bit resolution per sample, peak-to-peak maximum voltage of at least 500 mV into 50Ω, clock and fast trigger signal delivery capability, 10 digital output channels, at least 2 analog input channels with 10 GHz range and 400 MHz bandwidth with 12-bit resolution, and real-time feedback control capabilities with maximum 700 nanosecond latency for both digital and analog outputs. The system must be self-contained and powered using standard 120VAc/60Hz wall power and be rack-mountable.

The delivery deadline is no later than 60 days from award. Training requirements include one on-site or remote training session covering system operation, and the vendor must provide either in-person or Zoom training. Shipping is directed to NIST-Boulder, Mail Stop 676.01, 325 Broadway, Boulder, Colorado 80305. The base manufacturer warranty is acceptable, and acceptance is not expected to exceed 7 business days. Installation support from a vendor technician and coordination with the NIST Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) point of contact are required.
