NOTE: AMENDMENTS 01 AND 02 HAVE BEEN POSTED.  SEE ATTACHMENT SECTION FOR DETAILS

Pursuant to its Prime Contract with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), the Fermi Research Alliance, LLC (FRA), is leading the Long-Baseline Neutrino Facility (LBNF) Project to enable a world-class program in neutrino physics. Specifically, the LBNF Project (https://lbnf-dune.fnal.gov) provides the infrastructure for the Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment (DUNE) which will consist of two large liquid argon-based neutrino detectors located nearly a mile underground at the Sanford Underground Research Facility (SURF) in Lead, SD.

FRA requires storage and handling services for cryostat steel and fastening materials asssociated with LBNF.  The selected Subcontractor will be required to provide all personnel, equipment, tools, materials, and supervision for the necessary steel storage services to provide the receipt, handling, storage, and loading of the LBNF materials. The LBNF project will also require intermittent access for their QA/QC team at the steel storage location.

Steel storage services are required for materials that will consist of structural steel, warm skin steel and fasteners, to be used to construct the LBNF cryostats. The estimated maximum storage needs are equivalent to 6900 US Tons.

The steel storage location shall be located within approximately a 90-mile distance traveling by roadway or a maximum 2-hour one-way trip from Lead, SD.

The Steel Storage location must have an all-weather surface capable of supporting identified loads.  The Steel Storage location must have accommodations for dry storage of approximately 550 US tons of fasteners.  Material handling equipment intended for use must be capable of handling all materials identified in this RFP under own power and without the assistance of a secondary piece of equipment.

Complete details of the required steel storage services are available by downloading Request for Proposals (RFP) LBNF-343096-JD and its Attachments.
