About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) has issued a Special Notice regarding a potential Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA) Order under BOA N0003025G1038. The notice pertains to procuring, refurbishing, and installing new foam into Submarine Launched Ballistic Missile Nuclear (SSBN) vessels through foam refresh kits. Specifically, the order will focus on replacing lead septum foam in Power Conversion Equipment, Fire Control Circuit Panel Cabinets, and Fan Assembly components at shore sites. The notice emphasizes that this is an informational announcement and not a formal solicitation, with no commitment from the government to award a contract. The opportunity is being pursued on a sole source basis with General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) in Pittsfield, MA.
The primary objective of this Special Notice is to replace and refurbish critical foam components in strategic weapon systems using a turnaround method involving replacement of doors, panels, and fans. The contract will be awarded solely to GDMS, which is recognized as the exclusive manufacturer of the Trident (II) D5 Strategic Weapon System Fire Control System, with unique expertise in this domain. While direct contract award is not guaranteed, companies interested in potential subcontracting opportunities are instructed to contact GDMS's Small Business Liaison, Ms. Alexis Petro, via email. The performance is anticipated to occur primarily at the contractor's site, with a response deadline of April 24, 2025.
