About this opportunity
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service issued a notice of intent to award a sole source contract to Illumina, Inc., on June 2, 2026, with a capability statement deadline of June 12, 2026. This is a firm fixed price sole source award under FAR 13.106-1(b) for a 12-month contract not exceeding $350,000; no competitive procurement will occur. The Service intends to procure a MiSeq i100 Plus System with reagent kits, flow cells, and PhiX control for genetic tracking of Chinook salmon at Coleman National Fish Hatchery and other facilities. Market research confirmed that all GTSeq data collection protocols rely exclusively on Illumina instruments, establishing the sole source justification. The contractor must supply a 12-month warranty covering parts and labor and demonstrate capability to provide service in future years. Any interested party may submit a written statement of capabilities containing clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the government, submitted by email to Mary_Rawlinson@ios.doi.gov by June 12, 2026. All costs associated with capability statement preparation are the respondent's responsibility and will not be reimbursed.
