About this opportunity

This solicitation seeks maintenance dredging services across five harbor locations along the southeastern United States coastline. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Wilmington District requires dredging of Brunswick Harbor, Georgia; Savannah Harbor, Georgia; Wilmington Harbor, North Carolina; Morehead City Harbor, North Carolina; and Charleston Harbor, South Carolina. Services include removal and disposal of accumulated shoaled materials from navigation channels using hopper dredges capable of dredging to depths ranging from -40 to -58 feet mean lower low water. Dredged materials must be transported and placed at designated ocean dredged material disposal sites located within 15 miles of each harbor. The solicitation will be issued on or around June 30, 2021 as a firm fixed price contract with a magnitude between $10-25 million.

The solicitation is unrestricted with a North American Industry Classification code of 237990 and size standard of $30 million. Estimated quantities to be dredged range from 600,000 to 1,500,000 cubic yards per harbor location, with environmental dredging windows varying between year-round and December 15 to March 31 depending on the harbor. The place of performance will be the five specified harbor locations along the southeastern United States coastline.

The work for Wilmington Harbor Outer Ocean Bar shall consist of maintenance dredging of Wilmington Harbor Baldhead Shoal Channel Reach 3, Southport Channel and Battery Island Channel.  The maintenance dredging will require removal and disposal of shoaled material that has accumulated in the channels since they were last dredged.  The dredging shall be performed by hopper dredge.  Dredging depth is 44’ plus 2’ of allowable over depth.  The Government furnished disposal area is the Wilmington Harbor Ocean Dredged Material Disposal Site.

Morehead City Harbor, North Carolina

The work for Morehead City Harbor shall consist of maintenance dredging of the Morehead City Harbor Cutoff and Range A.
