About this opportunity

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is conducting market research to identify qualified contractors for replacing the Electrical Panel Motor Center at its Federal Regional Center in Denton, Texas. The project requires demolishing the existing motor control center and installing a modernized system capable of supporting 6,000 Metric Million British Thermal Unit (MMBTU) power output. Contractors must be prepared to complete the work with minimal disruption to facility operations, exclusively on weekends, and in compliance with National Electrical Code standards. Interested contractors are required to submit a completed facilities access form by April 24, 2025, and respond to the sources sought notice by May 5, 2025, at 11:00 AM CST. A mandatory site visit is scheduled for April 28, 2025, at 10:00 AM CST, where potential contractors can assess the workspace in-person.

The pre-solicitation notice indicates no specific set-aside designation for this contract opportunity. The period of performance is 60 days from award, with contractors required to begin on-site work within 14 calendar workdays of contract award. The project will be performed in an underground bunker originally constructed in 1964, requiring precise electrical infrastructure replacement. Contractors must provide a comprehensive Site Safety Plan compliant with OSHA standards, submit detailed documentation including drawings and test results, and offer a one-year warranty on parts and labor. The work falls under NAICS code 221122 for Electric Power Distribution, and while no specific award value is mentioned, the complexity of the project suggests a significant technical and financial investment in modernizing critical electrical infrastructure.
