About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Air Mobility Command's 87th Contracting Squadron at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst is seeking to procure a comprehensive Skydio drone and docking system for their small Unmanned Aerial System (sUAS) program. The procurement includes 3 Skydio X10D Starter Solutions with multi-band infrared capabilities, 3 Nightsense IR attachments, 6 speakers/microphones, 6 spotlights, 1 X10 Dock Bundle, maintenance and repair warranty plans, deployment and training services, and a 3-year on-premise remote operations license. The contractor must provide all personnel, equipment, tools, materials, and supervision necessary for delivery and installation of the complete system. The solicitation will use Lowest Price Technically Acceptable (LPTA) evaluation methodology with a firm fixed price contract structure, and the government intends to award without discussions. Proposals are due September 12, 2025 at 10:00 AM, with delivery required within 90 calendar days from award date. However, the solicitation includes a critical caveat that funds are not currently available and no award will be made until funding is secured.
This procurement is set aside as a Total Small Business opportunity under NAICS code 336411 (Aircraft Manufacturing), though the government files indicate it was also designated as a Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) set-aside. The single source justification specifies that only Skydio equipment meets requirements as it is a "Blue UAS" cleared by the Defense Innovation Unit, and the 87th Civil Engineer Squadron has already received training on this specific platform. No specific award value is disclosed in the available documentation, though the procurement involves multiple high-value drone systems and support services. The quantities include 3 drone starter systems, various accessories totaling 15 additional components, plus the dock system and comprehensive support services. Performance will take place at McGuire Air Force Base in New Hanover, New Jersey, with the contractor required to coordinate base entry procedures, adhere to strict security protocols, and complete final inspection with government quality assurance evaluators 24 hours prior to project completion.
