About this opportunity
The Medical Readiness Contracting Office - Pacific, supporting Tripler Army Medical Center in Hawaii, intends to make a sole source award to Simbionix USA Corporation for the FlexVR training platform. The procurement will utilize FAR 13.106-1(b)(1) authority, which allows for single-source procurement under the simplified acquisition threshold. The contract opportunity falls under the Surgical and Medical Instrument Manufacturing NAICS code 339112, specifically targeting medical training equipment. All questions and responses must be emailed to keary.haubner.civ@health.mil by February 7, 2025. Respondents are advised to provide comprehensive and detailed information to demonstrate their qualifications, understanding that the government is not obligated to acknowledge or provide feedback on submissions.
This pre-solicitation notice indicates no specific set-aside designation for the procurement. While the exact award value is not specified, the procurement is constrained by the simplified acquisition threshold. The sole source nature of the contract suggests Simbionix USA Corporation is the preferred or only qualified vendor for the FlexVR training platform. The procurement is specifically for a Virtual Reality (VR) medical training simulator, likely intended to enhance medical training capabilities for the Army Medical Command. The contract will be awarded under the Department of the Army Medical Command, a defense agency, with the procurement process focused on ensuring the government's best interests are met through this potential single-source acquisition.
