About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking a non-personal services contract to provide comprehensive test, inspection, and repair services for FENWAL 6000 Fire Alarm Systems and H2S Gas Detection Systems on COMPACFLT Berthing and Messing Barges located at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard. The contract requires the selected contractor to perform annual and semi-annual tests and inspections on eight specific barges, with technicians mandated to be certified by the original equipment manufacturer. Contractors must comply with NFPA 72 standards, manufacturer maintenance manuals, and local jurisdiction guidelines, and provide detailed inspection and test reports to the Contracting Officer's Representative. The pre-solicitation notice indicates work will be performed during regular business hours (0720-1602, Monday through Friday), with the government expecting 100% inspection compliance. The current opportunity is posted on April 18, 2025, with responses due by April 25, 2025, under the Electrical Contractors and Other Wiring Installation Contractors NAICS category.
The contract is not designated with any specific set-aside status and will cover up to eight hours of emergency onsite repair service to restore systems to normal operations. The government will provide electricity and replacement parts for emergency repairs, while the contractor must furnish all production support personnel, supervision, supplies, and equipment. Although specific award value details are not explicitly stated, the one-year contract scope involves maintaining fire alarm and gas detection systems across multiple naval barges, suggesting a potentially significant contract value. The work is categorized under Product Service Code J063 for maintenance and repair of alarm, signal, and security detection systems. Potential bidders should note the strict performance standards and comprehensive technical requirements, which will likely be key evaluation criteria for contractor selection.
