About this opportunity

This Special Notice from the Department of Agriculture Forest Service R2-Rocky Mountain Region concerns a sole source modification to an existing contract for aggregate surface resurfacing work on 2.0 miles of the Lone Dome Road (NFSR 504) in the San Juan National Forest. The incumbent contractor, JITA CONTRACTING, INC., will provide aggregate surface on the glade road which includes preparing the roadbed and placing and compacting 1"-minus road base material supplied by the government.

The purpose of this Special Notice is to inform the contracting community that the agency intends to award a sole source modification to the existing contract due to substantial duplication of costs that would not be recovered through competition since the incumbent contractor is already performing identical work in the vicinity. This is not a request for proposals and no contract will be awarded based on responses. However, any firm that believes they can provide the requirement may notify the Contracting Officer in writing by October 31, 2020 for consideration, though no solicitation document exists and phone inquiries will not be accepted.
