About this opportunity

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) is seeking to procure safety and mission assurance services through the Safety and Mission Assurance Services II (SMAS II) contract. The principal purpose is to provide a broad spectrum of services across disciplines such as system safety, reliability, software assurance, quality engineering, and industrial safety to support MSFC, Kennedy Space Center (KSC), Michoud Assembly Facility (MAF), and Stennis Space Center (SSC) requirements. This will be a competitive acquisition with a Draft Request for Proposal (DRFP) issued to allow industry comments. The final RFP is anticipated to be released on or about November 22, 2024, with proposals due on or about January 6, 2025. Interested parties must submit comments and questions on the DRFP by October 4, 2024.

This will be a small business set-aside acquisition, resulting in a single-award indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract with cost-plus-award-fee (CPAF) task orders. The contract has an eight-year period of performance under NAICS code 541715 with a 1,300 employee size standard. The contract will have the option to transition from CPAF to cost-plus-fixed-fee (CPFF) task orders and back to CPAF if appropriate. No incumbents or current contractor names are provided, and the anticipated award value or budget range is not specified.
