About this opportunity
The U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID) is seeking through a Request for Information (RFI) to identify sources for maintenance support of its Research Science Network (RSN) IT infrastructure, including hardware and software support services. This is a non-personal services contract requiring a single Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) to provide comprehensive maintenance for Dell storage, compute hardware, and associated software systems. Key contract requirements include 24/7/365 support coverage with four-hour onsite response times for hardware failures, preventative and corrective maintenance services using OEM-certified parts, Defective Media Retention capabilities, proactive software update notifications, and access to all firmware updates, patches, hotfixes, and minor version upgrades. Respondents must register in SAM.gov under NAICS 334111, demonstrate current commercial offerings to the general public, hold or be able to obtain any existing ordering vehicles (such as OMNIBUS IV, CHESS, or GSA schedules), and submit a capability statement not exceeding 10 pages by April 1, 2026, at 11:00 AM Eastern Time. The evaluation will assess contractor capability to meet these technical and support requirements; however, this RFI is for market research purposes only and does not constitute a binding solicitation or obligation for contract award.
This opportunity carries no small business set-aside, though small business sources are encouraged to respond. The current incumbent contractor is Government Acquisitions, Inc., which holds the existing warranty contract W81XWH-21-F-0260 scheduled to end July 29, 2026. The follow-on contract is anticipated to include a one-year base period and four one-year option periods with an optional six-month extension, though no specific contract value or budget range is disclosed in this pre-solicitation notice. Contractor personnel must obtain a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) security clearance and complete multiple mandatory training requirements including Anti-Terrorism Level I, OPSEC, iWATCH, and Information Assurance training. The work location is Fort Detrick, Maryland, and all contractor personnel must comply with installation access requirements at this facility.
