About this opportunity

The National Park Service's Pacific West Region is seeking sources for a critical communications infrastructure replacement project at Lake Mead National Recreation Area in Arizona. The project involves removing an existing 20-foot communications tower and its concrete foundation, and installing a new 40-foot self-supporting tower with associated infrastructure at the Mt. Perkins Communications Site. This is currently a Sources Sought Notice, and interested contractors are requested to email their capability and interest statement to bradley_metler@nps.gov by April 27, 2025. The project will require specialized skills in heavy civil engineering construction, specifically in electronic and communications facility repair and installation. Contractors must be prepared to work under strict park regulations, with work limited to daylight hours Monday through Friday and requiring careful environmental preservation.

No specific set-aside has been designated for this contract, and the project is classified under NAICS category 237990 for Other Heavy and Civil Engineering Construction. The contract performance period is estimated at 120 calendar days following the Notice to Proceed, with the project located in Mohave County, Arizona at an elevation of approximately 5,500 feet. The site is accessible only by dirt/gravel road, and helicopter transport of equipment and materials will be necessary. Vendors will be responsible for transporting government-furnished property, removing existing infrastructure, installing new foundation and tower components, connecting ground systems, and restoring disturbed areas. While no specific award value is mentioned, the complexity of the project, including specialized site access and transportation requirements, suggests a substantial and technically challenging contract opportunity.
