About this opportunity

The Department of Justice Bureau of Prisons Field Acquisition Office is soliciting bids for the replacement of shower facilities at FCI Danbury, a high-security correctional facility in Connecticut. The project involves a three-phase renovation of multi-stall shower rooms that requires the contractor to perform dimension verification, demolition and removal of existing units, and installation of eight new shower units with all associated accessories. The solicitation incorporates prevailing wage requirements under the Davis-Bacon Act, with wage rates for various construction trades ranging from $33.81 to $66.72 per hour plus fringe benefits. The government will evaluate proposals using the Lowest Price Technically Acceptable (LPTA) source selection process under FAR 15.101-2, considering both pricing and the contractor's technical approach to completing the work. Offers must be submitted by May 20, 2026 at 4:00 pm ET, with a mandatory pre-bid site visit scheduled for May 5, 2026 at 9:00 am, and NCIC security clearance paperwork due by April 29, 2026.

The work will be performed at FCI Danbury located at 33-1/2 Pembroke Road, Route 37, Danbury, CT 06811, with all interested parties required to submit three documents: a completed SF1449 form with pricing, a completed SF24 Bid Bond, and a technical summary of the proposed work process.
