About this opportunity

The Air Force Sustainment Center at Tinker Air Force Base is conducting market research to identify potential repair sources for Flight Data Recorders, Control Indicators, Data Transfer Units, and related components across multiple weapon systems, with responses due by July 15, 2026.

This is a sources-sought synopsis only; no solicitation is currently available and no contractual commitment will result. The government seeks qualified contractors capable of repairing flight-critical and mission-essential components spanning eight distinct NSNs and part numbers across UH001N, KC-135, B-1, C-130J, C-135, and F-16 platforms. Estimated repair volumes range from 3 to 50 units annually across basic and option periods. The components include power transformers (NSN 6120-01-452-1359, 12 annual units at $8,545.36 per unit), flight data recorders (multiple NSNs with annual quantities from 3 to 15 units at costs ranging from $2,419 to $4,728 per unit), control indicators (quantities from 5 to 50 units annually at $3,149.75 to $3,235 per unit), and data acquisition units (20 annual units at $8,326 per unit). Several items are classified as critical safety or critical application items requiring qualification under RQR-848. All items are eligible for commercial repair under FAR Part 12.

Contractors must furnish all labor, materials, facilities, equipment, preservation, packaging, and delivery. Contractors assume responsibility for supply chain management, logistics, parts forecasting, long-lead procurement, reparable forecasting, and obsolescence management. The government does not provide technical data; qualified sources must independently acquire necessary technical documentation and obtain Source Approval Request approval per RQR-848 standards. Potential sources must hold current AS9100, ISO 9001:2008, NATO AQAP-2070, or equivalent quality certifications and comply with NADCAP requirements where applicable. Place of performance is Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma. Interested sources must submit business information, CAGE code, size status, and certifications to 422scms.rfi.responses@us.af.mil by June 15, 2026. NAICS 336413; PSC J016.
