About this opportunity
The U.S. Geological Survey's Columbia Environmental Research Center is procuring comprehensive pump system replacement services through RFQ 140G0125Q0186, requiring the removal of an existing centrifugal pump and installation of two redundant inverter-duty centrifugal pumps with Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) capabilities. The project includes installing digital flow meters and pressure gauges with BACnet capabilities, replacing piping systems with bypass functionality, and ensuring all electrical work meets Local and National Electrical Code standards. The new pumps must be capable of delivering 200 gallons per minute of water flow with 120-200 feet of head capacity. The evaluation will use a best-value tradeoff approach where technical capability and past performance are significantly more important than price. Originally scheduled to close on August 14, 2025, the solicitation deadline was extended to August 19, 2025, at 10:00 am Pacific Time, with questions due no later than five calendar days before the submission deadline.
This procurement is designated as a 100% small business set-aside under NAICS code 333914 (Measuring, Dispensing, and Other Pumping Equipment Manufacturing) with a size standard of 750 employees. The contract value is estimated between $100,000 and $250,000, with a performance period of 30 days after notice to proceed, specifically from September 12, 2025, to October 28, 2025. Work will be performed in Boone County, Missouri, at the USGS Columbia Environmental Research Center facility. A mandatory site visit was held on August 7, 2025, and contractors were strongly encouraged to attend to better understand the project requirements. The government has identified Control Service Company as the existing building controls vendor that potential contractors may need to coordinate with for system integration purposes.
