The US Army Chemical Materials Activity (CMA) Recovered Chemical Materiel
Directorate (RCMD) provides centralized management and direction to the Department of Defense (DOD) for the assessment and disposal of recovered chemical weapon materiel; and other chemical disposal missions; in a safe and efficient, environmentally sound and cost-effective manner. The Joint Project Manager for Elimination (JPM-E) is managing a project for the RCMD to test Thermal Desorption Technology to remediate chemical warfare agent contaminated soils and debris. The technology supplier will provide a thermal desorption system and demonstrate its efficacy through a series of tests at an approved vendor site location using simulated agents, different soil types, and different operating conditions.
The objective of this effort is to select an Offeror to develop a test plan, obtain the test materials and systems, and perform the demonstration tests IAW with the test plan to demonstrate the effectiveness of a thermal desorption system to remediate agent contaminated soils.
