About this opportunity
The United States Department of the Naval Medical Research Command (NMRC) has published a sole source contract notice for preventive maintenance services on FACSymphony flow cytometry equipment. The agency intends to award this contract directly to Becton Dickinson of San Jose, California, though they will consider responses from other interested parties. The contract covers maintenance services for a FACSymphony A1 system and FACS Flow Supply System located at NMRC facilities. The procurement will be conducted under FAR Part 12 Commercial Items guidelines with NAICS code 334516. The contract structure includes a base year from November 1, 2025 through October 31, 2026, plus four option years, with base year funding of $17,691.48.
The primary objective of this Special Notice is to secure specialized maintenance services for critical research equipment used in both nonclinical and clinical studies at the naval medical facility. Contractors interested in responding must submit their information by September 29, 2025, and must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) with a valid Unique Entity Identification Number to be eligible for award consideration. The maintenance services include two annual preventive maintenance visits, unlimited service calls, 48-hour emergency response, technical support, and software updates, all requiring manufacturer-certified technicians using original equipment manufacturer parts. The government's market research identified Becton Dickinson as the sole source capable of providing the specialized maintenance required, emphasizing the critical nature of maintaining this sophisticated flow cytometry equipment that supports important medical research operations.
