About this opportunity
Air Combat Command seeks nineteen new pop-up targets with integrated wireless control systems and comprehensive training for Grand Bay Range at Moody Air Force Base, Georgia, with proposals due July 20. This is a Total Small Business set-aside.
The system must deliver battery-powered pop-up targets that mirror the existing ATA "PIT" target form factor and size for seamless integration into current protected target berms. The contractor shall provide two battery-powered control tablets for range tower operators and three battery-powered hand-held controllers for maintenance personnel. Control software must enable accurate scoring and reporting of target hits, control of background lighting effects, selection and triggering of simulated return gunfire indication modes, and real-time reporting and monitoring of target battery power levels. The wireless long-range communications network (WiFi or equivalent) must establish a minimum two-mile range between the range tower and target placement areas, with all targets fully functional and controllable at target locations. Communications relays and associated network components may be solar-powered or battery-powered.
The contractor must provide system upgrade options and required hardware/software to ensure compatibility between newly provided targets and existing on-hand ATA pop-up targets and chassis. The legacy upgrade package permits upgrading up to ten of the existing twenty-four original targets through either shipment to contractor facilities or on-site conversion by contractor technicians. Comprehensive training covering routine operations, system troubleshooting, battery/solar maintenance, and software utilization is required for designated Grand Bay Range personnel.
Place of performance is Grand Bay Range, Moody Air Force Base, Georgia. The NAICS code is 333310, Commercial and Service Industry Machinery Manufacturing; PSC is 6910, Training Aids. Amendment 001 added a Q&A attachment addressing technical and operational clarifications.
