About this opportunity

The Bureau of Land Management's Pocatello Field Office is soliciting fuels management services for the Pleasantview Hills Thinning project in Idaho, which involves treating 266 acres of vegetation to increase aspen occurrence while improving forest and rangeland health. The contractor must furnish all tools, labor, supervision, equipment, materials, supplies, transportation, and training necessary to accomplish the removal of trees and treatment of slash according to specified requirements, including cutting live conifers up to 20 inches diameter and live aspen up to 6 inches diameter. The government intends to award one Firm-Fixed Price contract and will evaluate quotes based on technical capability, prior relevant experience, and price. Questions must be submitted by email no later than June 11, 2025, at 5:00 PM Mountain Time, with electronic quotes due by June 24, 2025, at 5:00 PM Mountain Time. All potential offerors must be registered in the System for Award Management database and submit quotes electronically to Contracting Officer Heather McBride.

This acquisition is structured as a Total Small Business Set-Aside under NAICS code 115310 (Support Activities for Forestry) with a size standard of $11.5 million, and no incumbent contractor information is provided in the solicitation materials. The period of performance spans from July 2 through August 29, 2025, with the contractor required to start work within three days of notification and complete the project within an estimated three weeks. The work will be performed in the Pleasantview Hills area located 15 miles west of Malad, Idaho, covering treatment areas across multiple canyons including Point Canyon, West Elkhorn Canyon, and Morgan Jones Canyon. The project involves an "all or none" designation for the 266-acre treatment area, and contractors are encouraged to conduct their own site visits as the government is not providing an official site visit due to potentially questionable access during the solicitation timeframe.
