About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Air Mobility Command is seeking a design-build contractor to replace and consolidate fire alarm systems at Travis Air Force Base, specifically in Building 549. The project requires comprehensive design services at 35%, 65%, and 100% completion stages, along with full construction, demolition, and installation of a new Fire Alarm System (FAS). A critical requirement is that the new Fire Alarm Control Panel (FACP) must be non-proprietary, allowing base personnel to program and manage the system without manufacturer or third-party technician involvement. The solicitation will be published on SAM.gov, and all prospective offerors must be registered on that platform. The pre-solicitation notice was posted on January 13, 2025, with responses due by January 28, 2025, and the government reserves the right to not award a contract or reimburse proposal preparation costs.
The contract does not have a specific set-aside designation and falls under the NAICS category 334290 for Other Communications Equipment Manufacturing. No incumbent contractors are mentioned in the documentation. While specific award value or budget ranges are not disclosed, the project involves replacing four existing fire alarm control panels with a consolidated, modernized system. The scope of work includes comprehensive design services, demolition of existing systems, and full installation of new fire alarm infrastructure. The project will require detailed technical capabilities, with an emphasis on creating a flexible, in-house manageable system for Travis Air Force Base personnel. Contractors will need to demonstrate expertise in fire alarm system design, installation, and integration without creating proprietary dependencies.
