About this opportunity
The U.S. Department of Agriculture Forest Service is seeking a contractor to install a pipe rail fence at the Picket Post Trailhead in the Tonto National Forest to control visitor overflow and prevent unauthorized parking and camping expansion. The project involves installing 350 linear feet of pipe rail fence to delineate appropriate use areas and stop resource encroachment when the trailhead parking lot reaches capacity. The contractor must furnish all labor, materials, equipment, and supplies necessary to complete the installation according to specified drawings and specifications, with work to be performed between September 1, 2025, and January 1, 2026. The project falls under Davis Bacon wage determination AZ20250048 dated June 6, 2025, and the government anticipates awarding a firm-fixed price contract. Contractors must submit their offers electronically to the contracting officer at blaine.greenwalt@usda.gov, including the solicitation number 127EAX25Q0007 in their document name, with proposals due by August 8, 2025.
This procurement is designated as a Total Small Business set-aside under solicitation number 127EAX25Q0007, with no incumbent contractors identified in the documentation. The contract value is estimated to range between $25,000 and $100,000, representing a relatively modest infrastructure improvement project. The work must be completed within 60 days after contract award, providing a tight timeline for execution. Performance will take place in Superior, Arizona, specifically at the Picket Post Trailhead location in the Globe Ranger District of the Tonto National Forest. The project addresses a growing recreational use management challenge by providing physical barriers to control visitor impact on forest resources while maintaining access to designated areas.
